According to a ranking from Citizen’s Advice, energy supplier OneSelect came bottom of the table. A day after the rankings were published, OneSelect ceased trading. It is the ninth energy supplier this year to stop trading. Ofgem will pass customer accounts to a different energy supplier in due course.
The rankings are based a range of issues, such as call waiting times, levels of complaints, accuracy of billing and on-time switches. It includes 34 firms, accounting or 99% of the market.
The results cover the period from July to September 2018. It showed that OneSelect underperformed on all measures. It provides gas and electricity to around 35,000 customers in England and Wales. OneSelect achieved a score of 1.3 out of 5.
Energy supplier So Energy remained at the top of the table with a score of 4.7 out of 5. SSE was second, with 4.4 – ranking the highest out of the main suppliers.

Octopus Energy performed well, maintaining a score of 4.3, despite taking on 95,000 customers from failed supplier Iresa during the quarter. E.ON has the lowest ranking of the Big 6 energy suppliers. The company has slipped from 18th to 20th place, with a current score of 2.9 out of 5.
