Extra Energy and Spark Energy were two energy suppliers that ceased trading in the last few weeks. Customers of both of these suppliers are safe in that their energy supply will continue. Ofgem has appointed Scottish Power to take on Extra Energy’s 108,000 domestic customers as of 25th November 2018.
As an Extra Energy customer, you won’t lose your gas or electricity supply. Any credit you have will be protected.
Scottish Power will be in contact with customers in the coming days to let them know what happens next. The company will also update customers again when the transfer is complete.
Ofgem appointed Ovo Energy to take on Spark Energy’s 290,000 domestic energy customers. Furthermore, Ovo Energy is taking over the Spark Energy brand and operating company. Customers will continue to receive bills with the brandname Spark Energy.
Ovo Energy will contact customers over the coming days about the change. There’ll be no interruption to your energy supply – and you’ll also stay on the same tariff that you’re on now.
